Write Santa Claus a Letter & He'll Write You Back
December 7th 2006 17:01
You can even email Santa. He'll write you back, really.
Imagine the joy and wonder on a child's face when they receive a letter from dear ole Santa in the mail.
The Santa Letter-Writing Program is a Canada Post initiative in its 24th year. Over 10,000 postal 'Elves' volunteer each year to help Santa answer all his world-wide fan mail. And, being that Santa is such a world traveler, he and his Elves can write letters in many languages such as English, French, German, Spanish, etc and even in Braille.
So go ahead and make your wish list, add some Santa small talk (like 'How is Mrs Claus doing? or 'Are you getting some of your gifts from ebay this year?') and drop your letter in the mailbox. Santa will get back to you ASAP.
Mail Letters to Santa to:
Santa Claus
North Pole
HOH OHO
Canada
*Don't forget to include your return address
Email Santa by clicking HERE
Please note that "although Santa loves to receive letters and drawings, putting cookies and treats in letter envelopes is not a good idea as they could get crushed and damaged by the time they reach Santa. Santa much prefers to eat his treats on Christmas Eve, so please have your children save them at home for the big day!" from Santa's Corner, Canada Post

This program responds to all letters, regardless of country of origin. They answer thousands of letters from American children, for example.
I think Canada Post started this program because the North Pole is in Canada so it was easier for them to get the letters to Santa, Mrs Claus and the Elves.
Thanks and let me know if any kids you know end up participating!

and did you notice that the North Pole's postal code 'HOH OHO'
spells out "HO HO HO". Cute how they did that, I thought.

Sure enough, it was!
I wonder which reindeer will pull the lead sleigh this year - last years vote was close with Olive almost taking out the top honour, but I think it was Dasher who got there in the end.
Mind you, Santa does have a rather interesting disclaimer in case of bad weather. ; )
