LAZY BUMS AND THEIR TV

May 7th 2008 22:19
This is not the first time that I have noticed the newer generations flaws and strengths but it is the first time that I have realized the impact they will make in the world. The newest generations have so much technology brought to them that many kids are just using the high tech stuff instead of learning and finding out how they were made. If our society wants to continue to survive we need to get our butts out of our comfy chairs and out in the yard working or playing! Learning doesn't come from just watching TV shows and it doesn't come from just playing all day long.

Work is a principle that if not used you can become a complete failure. If you don't learn to work hard when you are young you most likely are never going to learn how to work and you won't be able to get a job and to support your family or even yourself. That is how beggars came to be people!! TV is good once in a while but it is being so overused that TV is all that most kids nowadays know

Teens and Depression

April 6th 2008 15:13
Depression. What a nasty word. It came to mind as I watched my friends laugh when just earlier I had seen them in a terrible mood. Why is depression such a normal thing in this time and age?? Going through school I would hear other people telling each other that they were bipolar and that they had depression so they were not someone that they wanted to be around. So is that a realistic and okay thing to do? Just not go near someone and judge them because they have depression problems. This has been an issue that has bugged me over the last few years.

Even though it may seem fair to stay away from someone who has these problems, it isn't. Suicides have gone up by almost 50% in the last 30 years. By ignoring them, we are choosing to ruin and destroy the world as we know it even more

Thoughts on Typing & Texting

April 5th 2008 16:42
The biggest change in the economy over the last twenty or so years has been the improvement of computers and technology within the home. Watching a keyboarding class the other day brought some questions to my mind about the world and what will happen in future times. Having been pondering about cell phones for a week or so, when I watched that class type it made me wonder what will happen to the future of texting.

Texting appeared out of nowhere and has been loved by all, but who was the inventor of texting?? I thought about that for quite a while because really the inventors in our time and age don't get any real big credit like inventors used to. That made me wonder if inventors will get angry enough some day because they are getting no recognition that they will stop making things for us

I woke up from a very deep sleep, took a shower, got dressed and went through half my day regularly without even the smallest idea that it was a holiday! I don't know if I'm losing my memory, but I think that April Fools day is losing its popularity. I remember the days when a everyone walking down the street would be wearing green on the holiday and when many pranks were being made... Am I just too lost in my own world? Is there still some excitement and celebration going on over April Fools?

I believe that in a small amount of time newspapers are going to switch and they will only be provided on the internet. The newspaper companies would make a lot more money if they did so. It would make newspapers a lot more popular and normal. If they ever do change the newspapers, they could provide electronic newspaper readers. These readers would have the full color display and could have movies. It would have WiFi browsing and it would automatically update every day with the newest articles.

Why do I think that newspapers are going to be put on the internet? Because people all over the world have started spending a lot more time on the internet. Also a lot of people have stopped subscriptions to the newspaper because they don't like walking down their driveway each day to get it. Internet would fix the problem, plus it would add a whole bunch of amazing features that will just make it better. Having the newspapers on the internet would make it a lot easier for people to subscribe, search, and keep them. If they liked certain pictures or articles they could be printed out and they would be on a lot nicer paper then from the newspaper

Now I've been thinking a lot about this lately, because of the common conversation that I hear about it all of the time. I have noticed that over the last couple of years technology has sprung out of nowhere and the world has become immensely filled with extraordinary gadgets and things. Where did cell phones come from? I have no idea, but to me it just seemed like they popped out of nowhere! Same thing as texting! All of the sudden everyone was just doing it! Anyway, I'm getting a little off subject, but really the world has gone downhill in a lot of areas. Such as pregnancy rates going up and girls ruining their lives at 14 because of it... Also drug usage and swearing. Most movies that are coming out are filled with pornography and things that no one should be seeing. So is the world getting better or worse? That is a hard question, but I'm on the side that the world is getting worse. I think we are going downhill and that things are just going to get worse every day.

Are podcasts the new "thing"??

March 18th 2008 02:41
I've heard a lot of people over the last few years who have said that podcasting is going to take over a lot of entertainment. They believe that "podcast watchers" will be made and that almost everyone is going to all know about their favorite podcasts, etc... Is this true?

Lately I have found many writing projects on www.elance.com that have been satisfying my thirst to write and earn money at the same time, but now I'm wanting more writing jobs that I would like. Does anyone know of any websites that are really good for writing jobs, contests, etc?? I could really use some help on finding some more writing jobs.

Here are some oh-so-clever questions foreigners have asked about the Great White North (as posted on an International tourism site). The hilarious Canuck answering them is sure to get a free beer from me should we ever meet!

Q: I have never seen it warm on Canadian TV, so how do the plants grow? (England)

Superman
'Let's not let this Kryptonite get in the wrong hands!'
A mineral closely resembling the chemical formula of Superman's 'Kryptonite' has been unearthed in a Serbian mine.

The newly discovered mineral's formula matches that of Kryptonite - as described by Lex Luthor in 'Superman Returns' - differing only in that it does not contain fluorine
