The World's second richest man, Warren Buffet, pledged to begin giving away 85% of his 44 billion fortune to world health organizations to fight diseases such as AIDS.
This is the single biggest charitable gift in history.
There has been a doubling in the number of non-profits and foundations this year.

Videos played on internet sites such as YouTube and MySpace featured many inspirational, moving and touching stories.
