Teens and Depression

Depression. What a nasty word. It came to mind as I watched my friends laugh when just earlier I had seen them in a terrible mood. Why is depression such a normal thing in this time and age?? Going through school I would hear other people telling each other that they were bipolar and that they had depression so they were not someone that they wanted to be around. So is that a realistic and okay thing to do? Just not go near someone and judge them because they have depression problems. This has been an issue that has bugged me over the last few years.
Even though it may seem fair to stay away from someone who has these problems, it isn't. Suicides have gone up by almost 50% in the last 30 years. By ignoring them, we are choosing to ruin and destroy the world as we know it even more.
From experience, just take my advice. If you have friends with depression problems or if you are the one that have them, take care of it. Go to a counselors. Get something done about this.
