Japan to Michael Jackson: Just Beat It!
December 18th 2006 18:39
Jacko's ticket prices for a Dec. 19th event were too pricey for even his adoring Japanese fans. What were these $3,300 tickets for you ask? A very special concert of dancing and singing just for you? Oh no, not at all. Jackson wanted upwards of $3,300 just for the privilege of shaking hands and being photographed with the King of Pop. There would have been no singing or dancing whatsoever.
The Japanese were said to be outraged at the outrageous prices & ticket sales were consequently abysmal. Tokyo fans seemed to be singing their own tune telling Wacko Jacko to "Beat It!"
To make nice, the Meet-and-Greet was canceled entirely and replaced by a "Fan Appreciation Day" in Tokyo scheduled for March.
