Homeless Heroes Save Little Girl
December 14th 2006 15:50
The last thing a group of homeless men expected to do was save a nine year old girl's life. But that's exactly what they did when a speeding cadillac hit little Robyn Rubio head-on and pinned her beneath it.
The homeless men had been drinking in a Las Vegas alley when the accident occured. They rushed over and miraculously lifted the 5,000 pound vehicle off Robyn.
One of the men, Stanford Washburn, comforted the severely injured child by chanting, "'Please don't leave us, be with us, be well, be well."
Later when Washburn was being commended for his act of bravery, he modestly replied, "I don't want to be called a hero" and "I'm just one of you guys, a red-blooded human being."
A red-blooded human being with a heart of gold. Think of these heroes and their selflessness the next time you encounter the homeless.
