December 4th 2006 21:25
Here are some unique and funny presents for you & your four-legged friends to "enjoy":

Dog Powered Scooter

This Dog Powered Scooter has Fido inside a frame where all his boundless energy is harnessed to propel master's scooter. Well, that's one way to combat Global Warming.

Kitty Toilet Training

Fed up with having to clean up after kitty does his business in the sandbox? Well, then its time to toilet train him, of course. Catseat fits over your existing toilet & trains your cat to use the facilities. Now if only we can get him to put the seat down, hey girls?

Pet Petter

Tired of going to all the hard work of petting your pet yourself? No problem, just get the Pet Petter. The inventor, Anthony Steffen, tells us,"One of the primary elements of this relationship of man and domestic pets seems to be the scratching, stroking and petting of a pet that can be accomplished by it's human symbiont by reason of his greater dexterity. Though this petting process seems to be a necessary and essential element of a human relationship with pets, it oftentimes is neglected, undoubtedly to the sensual displeasure of the animal involved and quite possibly to the potential disruption of the relationship with that animal".

Watch now as Anthony pitches his Petter to the judges on 'American Inventor':

Dog Costume

Is your pooch the princess of your life? Dress her up in this darling ensemble.
Paris Hilton & Tinkerbell, eat your hearts out.

Doggy Lifejacket

Now your pet can be safe on the water in this stylish lifejacket. Paws Aboard Doggy Life Jackets provide ultimate buoyancy and high visibility to keep pets safe.

Which above pet product would you get for your animal?

What a great bunch of pet products. I don't think my cat will go for the seat, but would love the petter!

Did you watch the pet petter video? He certainly has passion for his invention, if not support from the judges.

Have you ever had an idea for a new pet product?
There do seem to be more avenues these days to help inventors such as Idea Fetch which has a pet invention contest with $25,000 grand prize.

My computer isn't fast enough to cope with the video. i haven't come up with any pet product ideas as yet, but my brain is always ticking over!

Awww, I'm in love with the first image...
The Paws Aboard life jacket manages to be both practical and incongruous.

Hi Pegasus,

Whilst I think dog-power and kitty-doo-doo seats are a good thing... I think doggy owners are proving that it is becoming a scary world out there, especially the Thomas Edison of Pooch-petting *lo-freaky-l*

Didn't dogs used to be able to swim really well...[I'm a cat person]?

great post!

Lilla...

hey Lilla,

How embarrassing would it be to stand on a scooter while you dog's hooked up to one of those harness things? I'd be blushing the whole way.

Mr Pet Petter is quite a character. The blue print in my post is his actual patent illustration. He obviously expended a lot of time & effort on the machine.
Apparently, he also says one can use the Petter for human infants!! Can you imagine?

LOL, dogs used to be able to swim just fine without doggy floatation devices but that was before the Pet Petter got at them! ha ha

Thanks for visiting,

Peg
